Theme Parks, Road Trips and Tropical Delights

When it comes to variety Florida is one destination that seems to have it in abundance.  For those planning multi centre holidays in the USA, this State that is located in the far south east of the US, is definitely worth considering.  The climate alone makes it a worthy choice for most British holiday makers – being sub-tropical it is consistently warm and usually hot!  Tourists from across the States and around the world flock to Florida to make the most of not only the climate but also the vast range of attractions on offer.

Magical starting points

A good starting point for 2012 Holidays, based in Florida, is the city of Orlando.  Home to some of the most famous theme parks in the world, Orlando is particularly attractive for families.  The theme parks include the Universal Orlando Resort® which has recently added the ‘Wizarding World of Harry Potter’® to its attractions.  In addition the city is home to the original theme park – Walt Disney World® Resort – particularly popular with those with younger kids.  Just along the road is the well-known Kennedy Space Center – a theme park with a difference!  Home to NASA’s Space Shuttle Program and the famous launch site for the Space Shuttle and the Apollo missions – the centre offers a great visitor experience and a range of rides and attractions that include opportunities to explore a replica shuttle.  Regular launches also take place – although the Space Shuttle Program is no longer running.  The coastline around the Kennedy Space Center has remained undeveloped and offers great beaches for relaxing in the sun when you’re not visiting the theme parks – and this coastline is considered the best for surfing on the eastern US coast.

A city with attitude

Holidays to Florida don’t need to be expensive and cheap Florida holidays are widely available – including some fantastic Florida Villas.  A road trip is, after all, part and parcel of US culture and Florida is a good location to take one.  Breezing along the highways that run along the palm-fringed beaches is a must and heading south through Florida, these roads allow for ample stops at some of the State’s hidden gems.  Florida is home to a number of State Parks, which offer chances for camping, hiking, cycling and also diving and snorkeling or kayaking; these less well-known retreats are a real treat and allow you easy chances to get off the beaten track for a while.  As a second destination in your multi centre holiday – Miami beckons from the southern most regions of the mainland USA.  The city is popular with the wealthy; well, the super wealthy!  Be warned you may need to pack a certain amount of glamour and attitude to cruise through the wide tree-lined streets of this city.  Miami is home to some fantastic beaches – many popular with the rich and famous if you feel the need to be star struck – don’t get too close because some of them do actually strike!  Other beaches have a more relaxed attitude, an attitude that is prolonged along Highway One – this road defies the Straits of Florida and stretches over the sea through the relaxed Florida Keys – coral islands where the lifestyle is relaxed, friendly and decidedly tropical – an ideal end to your twin centre holiday.
