Pretty Lady, Strong Opinion

This is Carrie Prejean, Miss California 2009.
If you haven’t seen clips from Sunday night’s Miss USA pageant, I’ll bring you up to speed:
Miss California was one of the five finalists. She was asked by one of the judges, blogger Perez Hilton, whether she felt that every state in the union should follow the example of those states that have legalized same-sex marriage.
She replied, “I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, in my country, in my family, I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”
Cool. She was asked her opinion, and that’s what she gave, right?
Well, Carrie did not win the pageant, she was runner-up. Do you think her answer to the same-sex question impacted the outcome of the pageant?
Tell me what you think.
Rick

Rick:
According to: “YOU ‘R’ Fired” Donald Trump the answer is YES! And he should know because not only is he responsible for the Miss USA pageant, but was also aware of the accumulated points each contestant had prior to the question posted by: ?. Perez Hilton (an embarrassment to the intellectual homosexual community). Perez owes an apology to many including his mother! My hat off to Trump for his guerrilla marketing strategies always using controversial issues in order to promote his huge ego and enterprises!

She gave a good answer, it’s funny how he judged her on her answer, but called her a b**** and no one in the media questions him on that.

Gays say they want people to respect their rights, well respect my right to believe in what the Holy Bible teaches about same sex marriage. Read Romans chapter One. You have a right to choose to be gay, I have a right to choose to be a Christian, I do not hate gay people, and yes they have a right to choose. Love the sinner, but hate the sin, and remember we all have sinned and fallen short in God’s eyes. That why He gave His Son.

I won’t judge all gays the same, and you should not judge all Christians the same. You say you believe you were born that was, I say I am born again, a sinner saved by grace.

Are you kidding me? If someone is going to be judged on her family upbringing and answering a question honestly, there is something very disturbing about the judges themselves! Here is my politically correct answer: homosexuals should not be judging these contests. Her answer was valid and sincere. This is a disgrace. Its fine that these gays want to fight for marriage but its not okay for a human being to express his or her beliefs during a contest where she was asked a question. Get over yourself you queers because the human race wouldn't exist without normal sexual relationships!

Glad the question was asked, Glad she spoke her mind, glad she didn’t win, as she clearly doesn’t represent America, and that is part of the role of Ms America.

Totally inappropriate question - You’re gonna be criticized if you answer either way. This is a BEAUTY CONTEST, not a political contest. What is our world coming to - all these people against traditional marriage trying to propagandize the Miss USA Pageant. Shameful - At least she gave an honest answer - although I’m sure she knew what a minefield it would be - I applaud her…..

Yes indeed she got screwed out of the Miss USA title just by ans. the question about gay marriage..She by far was the most beautiful and poised of the 2..That question should never have been ask in the first place and of course not by a gay man…If he didn’t want her to ans it truthfully then he should not have ask it. It was a loaded question and the title should be given to her now ..If I was Donald Trump I would do somthing about this and if he’s any man what so ever he will…Or either tell the contestants that they should never ans the questions truthfully just pc.

I was impressed with the beauty’s comments. It is a powerful commentary on her inner strength and speaks to a woman’s ability to express publicly, her convictions and moral stance.

The young lady was stating her opinion based upon “how she was raised.” Too bad her parent did not raise her to think for herself and develop a thought process and opinion based upon her own experiences.

Sad that it came to this in the Miss USA Pageant, but she’s is right in my eyes & GOD’s. GOD loves u no matter who u are, that he gave us the right to choose, but also told & showed us the way to salvation.

Same sex is not the right way……Sorry….simple as that!!!!!!!!!!

GOD BLESS! : )

I applaud Ms. Prejean for giving her opinion, as did many people in the audience last night. She was asked for her opinion and she gave it. She did not coddle her answer in hopes of winning more votes and I do indeed feel she was penalized for being honest. Incidentally, the judge who asked the question was clearly shaking his head “no” during her answer and was making notation as to her response.
