After months of hitting the beaches, cruising the boulevards and partying till dawn, the insider city guide series ‘Hg2| A Hedonist’s guided to…’ has yet again compiled a guide to the very best the city has to offer. In celebration of the latest edition of A Hedonist’s guide to Miami, the insider experts give their favorite spots in the city.
Eat:
These days, the SoBe hipsters are heading north to line their stomachs, thanks to the new favorite Sugarcane. Cuban décor isn’t anything new for Miami residents, but with beamed ceilings and an ivy-covered garden, the understated-cool atmosphere is just the ticket for attracting an effortlessly hip crowd. This Japanese/South American eatery is jam packed on the weekends so make sure to book a table to avoid being turned away at the door.
Drink:
Thanks to the all-day drinking culture, liquor is everywhere in Miami. If you’re tired of your drinks coming with umbrellas and being served by overly enthusiastic preteens, then take a break with a straight up at Club Deuce. It’s dirty and gritty which is exactly why we love it.
Snack:
Between stylish dining, trips to the beach and some hard drinking it might be easy to forget about snacking, but taking time for brunch at the Cardozo Café is practically a cultural must since Miami celeb Gloria Estefan owns the place. It’s better than the other imitators on Ocean Drive strip. Keep your ears open for the Conga.
Party:
Post-recession, the flash-your-cash attitude to partying has just about died in most places. But with locals too busy on the beach to read the news, Miami has become the lifeboat for those who still want to spray champagne without getting punched. For the gentlemen ready to flash the cash and ladies ready for a free night out, head to B.E.D. where the Miami elite rub shoulders.
